Reducing Communication Time During Long-Term Testing with autfactory

An internationally active manufacturer of precision components uses long-term endurance testing for product validation. During these tests, electronic components are subjected to electrical current and voltage loads over several days.

These so-called lifetime tests are a key component of quality assurance and require precise, continuous data acquisition. To make the tests more efficient and transparent, autfactory was introduced as the central software solution.

The objective was to provide a system capable of recording precise measurement data continuously for more than 250 hours, controlling the entire test sequence, and remaining easy for operators to use. The aim was to present complex technical processes in a way that allowed them to be configured and executed without any programming knowledge.

Project Challenges

The greatest challenge was striking the right balance between ease of use and a high degree of configurability—without requiring any programming knowledge.

In addition, the continuous recording of a wide range of signals, including current, voltage, and temperature, had to be ensured. It was not only the 250-hour test duration that was critical, but also the high sampling rate of 20 kHz. This meant that enormous volumes of data had to be stored quickly, stably, and reliably.
Another key requirement was that the system had to support the parallel operation of up to ten test specimens while maintaining consistent performance and data quality.
